A judge in May dismissed a lawsuit against Pennington County State's Attorney Glenn Brenner, who was sued for allegedly stealing the affection of someone else's wife. Judge Robert Miller ruled there was no affection left in the marriage when the woman's relationship with Brenner started. But Douglas Rumpca has appealed that decision, and the South Dakota Supreme Court says they'll take up the case on Jan. 10. The Supreme Court will consider two issues -- whether there is reasonable basis that Brenner's conduct was willful, wanton or malicious, and whether Kellie Rumpca still had affections for Doug Rumpca when she started her relationship with Brenner. -Jack Caudill |
