Man rides 'Rocket Trike' to oppose XL Pipeline

He's riding his bike more than 2,500 miles to protest a proposed $7 billion dollar oil pipeline.

Tom Weis is on a mission to send a statement to President Barack Obama to prove there is strong opposition to the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline and he's using a unique set of wheels to accomplish it.  He calls it the "Rocket Trike." It runs solely on leg power with an electric motor to power the back wheel if he needs it.  Weis says he's fighting for those whom he considers to be the most affected by the proposed pipeline.  Weis says, "I'm lending my support to all the land owners, ranchers and tribal communities and rural families who are fighting to keep this off their land. They don't want their water contaminated with toxic tar sand slurry."  Weis says he has about 2 thousand more miles to go before the end of his journey that's following alongside the proposed pipeline route.  People who support the pipeline argue that it would create much-needed jobs in the U-S and lessen the country's dependence on oil from the Middle East.
