The best ideas to make Indian reservations safer don't come from Washington D-C but from tribal leaders themselves.
That comes from South Dakota's U-S Attorney, Brendan Johnson, who will join 30 other U-S attorneys to address tribal issues across the country.
The group. along with Attorney General Eric Holder, will be in Rapid City Wednesday and on the Pine Ridge Reservation Thursday talking with tribal leaders about safety.
The U-S assistant attorney general says public safety challenges on reservations are enormous, and poverty is still a major problem.
The attorneys will address the lack of resources and the staggering statistics of domestic violence.
Holder will travel to Pine Ridge tomorrow afternoon.
