Jackley says, "When we're called in by the law enforcement agency that had the officer involved in the shooting, we work with other local agencies to investigate the scene, interview witnesses, and then we issue a report by DCI that the attorney general and the state's attorney of the county receive. And we are really at the end of the day asked to give the opinion whether or not the officer had the justification to use lethal force." Jackley says unfortunately fatal shootings involving law enforcement happens a little too often. He says it's happened three times since he's been Attorney General. -Megan Palera |
