| BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. (AP) _ A sanctuary in western South Dakota for exotic birds is full after a busy winter. More than 20 displaced birds were dropped off at the Black Hills Parrot Welfare and Education Center in Belle Fourche over the winter. The center is now caring for 88 birds. Co-owner Cindy Poulain tells the Black Hills Pioneer that the sanctuary can't take in any more birds unless it's an emergency. She says the facility operates on donations, and expenses currently are exceeding revenue. The center is selling posters of a bird painting made by a local artist to raise money.
