Fire danger still high
Thursday, 09 September 2010 11:20
It's been a few years since the Black Hills has seen wildfires like those burning in Colorado destroying homes and property.Local fire management here says although they haven't had to battle a blaze recently in the Hills, that doesn't mean a major fire couldn't start and spread quickly.

Joe Lowe says, "You know, I don't think we can ever relax. You know, it's weather driven. This agency is always ready to meet the challenge. At this point, right now we've got a lot of dry grass out there. As evidence the other day, the only thing we're really missing is ignitions."Fire danger in the Black Hills was listed today as very high except for Meade County where it was listed as high.
