PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Gov. Mike Rounds is urging motorists to play it safe on South Dakota's highways during the Labor Day weekend.
Rounds said drivers should use seat belts on every trip and pay
attention to speed limits and road conditions. And if there's drinking, motorists should remember to designate a sober driver.
Four people were killed and 92 were injured on South Dakota
roads during the last two Labor Day weekends, and half of the
fatalities involved alcohol.
Through the end of August, 95 people died in crashes on South
Dakota roads. |
