CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) _ The Wyoming Democratic Party won't field
candidates in two statewide races in the November general election.
The state canvassing board last week certified that Casper City
Council member Keith Goodenough had received enough write-in votes
in the Aug. 17 primary to become the Democratic nominee for state
auditor.
The board also certified that Worth Christie, a Casper insurance
agent, received enough write-in votes to run as a Democrat for
state treasurer.
Peggy Nighswonger is state elections director. She says neither
Goodenough or Christie accepted the board's invitation to file as
candidates by Tuesday's deadline.
